🔬 Real-World Forensics Comes to HHS! 🕵️‍♀️ Today during our Learning by Doing afternoon, students at HHS had the exciting opportunity to learn from a special guest speaker — Samantha Shaw, a Forensic Scientist with the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). Samantha shared an engaging overview of the field of forensics, including the various specialty areas within the discipline. She focused on her expertise in DNA analysis and guided students through a series of hands-on activities. Students lifted their own fingerprints, compared crime scene prints to suspect samples, analyzed DNA evidence to solve a mock bank robbery and determine parentage in a case involving a child switched at birth, and examined differences in firearm-related evidence. We are incredibly grateful to Samantha for taking the time to visit and inspire our students with her knowledge and passion for forensic science. Experiences like this bring learning to life and spark curiosity for future careers! #SDWeekofWork

Hoven School will be having a bake sale on Friday, April 11th at 6:00 PM (before the Elementary Spring Concert). All proceeds will go to 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Mitzel, to help defray medical costs from her accident last Fall.

📢 Mother & Son Fun Day! 🎉 Hey elementary parents! Get ready for some action packed fun at her upcoming mother son fun ! To make sure everyone's ready for the Nerf battle, please bring these items with you : ✅ TWO Nerf Guns (that use the standard Nerf darts) 🎯 No need to bring bullets-the PTA will be providing all the Nerf darts! Don't have a Nerf gun? No worries! We will have a few extras on hand to share. We can't wait for a safe and exciting time full of teamwork, strategy and fun. Thanks for helping us. Large Group Music Day & concert in Eureka on April 2nd (tomorrow) has been cancelled. We plan to have a Large Group Concert in the Hoven gym at 2:30 PM on April 2nd weather permitting.

A good day for Hoven FFA! Horse Eval - 1st place team - state qualified! Dannika Kaup - 1st place individual Abby McGuire - 2nd place individual Ag Mech - 3rd place team - state qualified! Lane Stuwe - 9th place individual Addison Griese - Vet Science - state qualified individual! This is in addition to our already state qualified Dairy Cattle judging team: Ava Hartung, Wyatt Huber, Jack Stuwe, and Austin Jensen.
